Canadian Bar Association

Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association (CHLIA)
The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA), established in 1894, is a voluntary trade association that represents the collective interests of its member life and health insurers. The Association's membership accounts for 99 per cent of the life and health insurance in force in Canada and administers about two-thirds of Canada's pension                                    plans.

Financial Services Commission of Ontario
The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) was created on July 1, 1998, as an arm's-length agency of the Ministry of Finance. FSCO integrates the operations of the former Ontario Insurance Commission, Pension Commission of Ontario, and Deposit Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance. Human Rights Commission

Insurance Brokers Association of Canada

Insurance Bureau of Canada
Established in 1964, Insurance Bureau of Canada is the national industry association representing Canada’s private home, car and business insurers. Our member companies represent nearly 95% of the property and casualty insurance market in Canada, an industry that employs over 110,000 Canadians, pays more than $6 billion in taxes to the federal and                                 provincial governments and has a total premium base of $38 billion,                                 approximately half of which is derived from automobile insurance.


Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is an independent, nonprofit, scientific, and educational organization dedicated to reducing the losses — deaths, injuries, and property damage — from crashes on the nation's highways. The Highway Loss Data Institute shares and supports this mission through scientific studies of insurance data representing the                                    human and economic losses resulting from the ownership and operation                                    of different types of vehicles and by publishing insurance loss results by                                    vehicle make and model.


International Academy of Mediators
The mission of the International Academy of Mediators is to define standards and qualifications for the professional mediator of commercial disputes and to promote the mediation process as the preferred means of resolving disputes. The Academy fosters the highest standards of integrity and competence in the mediation of commercial disputes. Promoting the                                    study and understanding of the mediation process, and educating the                                    public, courts and legislative bodies on effective and appropriate uses of                                    mediation are at the core of IAM's mission. Ontario Trial Lawyers Association
The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) was founded in 1991 in response to an overwhelming need in Ontario for an organization of lawyers acting for plaintiffs. OTLA has over 1190 members and is comprised of plaintiffs' lawyers from Ontario, out-of-province members from New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia,                                    Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, along                                 with the United States. Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario
The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) is the self-regulatory body for insurance brokers in Ontario. Established in October 1981, RIBO regulates the licensing, professional competence, ethical conduct, and insurance related financial obligations of all independent general insurance brokers in the province.


Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS)
The Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the practice of risk management. The Insurance Institute of Canada
The Insurance Institute, with its network of 21 provincial Institutes and local Chapters, is the educational arm of the property and casualty insurance industry, representing 35,000 individuals across Canada. Of those members, 20,000 are students and more than 15,000 are graduates who have earned the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation. We have                                   been educating the industry since 1899.


The Law Society of Upper Canada

Workers Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB)
The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) promotes workplace health and safety, and provides a workers compensation system for the employers and workers of Ontario.
